Wild Animal Control
Skunks generally cause two types of damage. The unmistakable odor that skunks give off when frightened is familiar to most. Skunks will make their way under porches, decks, sheds, garages, or commercial buildings…
We can handle them all. The second type of damage with skunks is they can tear up your lawn, also known as “grubbing.” Grubs are one of skunk’s favorite treats. They will destroy lawns that are infested with them. Lawn care companies can treat for grubs in July and August. We can keep skunks off until a lawn care company can get there.
Are these masked bandits having a field day with your garbage cans?
Raccoons are nocturnal and will eat almost everything including small mammals and birds. They whimper, whine, squeal and hiss. Raccoons are one of the top rabies carriers.
Opossums are nocturnal. They are a scavenger like creature; but often are seen eating road kill. They love getting into trashcans and feasting. Opossums are about 40 inches long, this includes their rat like tail that is just about half the size of their body; they have about 50 teeth in their mouth.
Seitz Bros. specializes in bat proofing structures. All bat work comes with a guarantee. We also provide bat dropping (guano) removal service. Bat droppings accumulate quickly and can be harmful to humans.
Inhaling spores found in bat and bird droppings can cause a disease called “histoplasmosis.”
Groundhogs are members of the squirrel family: their stocky, furry build notes them. There front feet have very long claws for digging holes and digging for food. They tend to be about 16-20 inches in length and have short furry tails. They breed in March and April and have a litter of 3-4. Their extensive tunneling systems can cause damage to foundations, septic systems, and landscaping.
Weather its starlings, pigeons or sparrows; Seitz Bros. wildlife professionals can solve your pest bird problems. Using a variety of techniques such as exclusion netting, bird spikes, trapping, or visual deterrents. Our technicians can provide you the best control options available.
Seal up and Exclusion
Most people would like a permanent solution to their pest problem. Whenever possible, once the critters are removed, we will provide extensive seal up options to prevent the problem from re-occurring. Our technicians are highly trained to determine entry points and potential entry points. Why wait for critters to move in? Prevention is the best cure. Have your building sealed before a problem occurs.
Cleanup and Restoration Services
Once the critters are out, we provide extensive cleanup, disinfecting, deodorizing, and restoration (re-insulating) of animal and bird damage (droppings, urine, and nesting debris). Our state of the art vacuum system provides the safest and cleanest way of removing animal and bird damage.
Rabies Fact from the Center of Disease Control
Wild animals accounted for 92 % of reported cases of rabies in 2006. Raccoons continued to be the most frequently reported rabid wildlife species (37.7% of all animal cases during 2006), followed by bats (24.4%), skunks (21.5%), foxes (6.2%), and other wild animals, including rodents and lagomorphs (0.6%). Reported cases increased among all wild animals during 2006. Any mammal can get rabies. The most common wild reservoirs of rabies are raccoons, skunks, bats, foxes, and coyotes. Domestic mammals can also get rabies. Cats, cattle, and dogs are the most frequently reported rabid domestic animals in the United States. Bats are mammals and are susceptible to rabies, but most do not have the disease. You cannot tell if a bat has rabies just by looking at it; rabies can be confirmed only by having the animal tested in a laboratory. To minimize the risk for rabies, it is best never to handle any bat.
