Testing & Inspection
Asbestos Building Inspection
Surveying and sampling of Suspect Asbestos Containing Materials (SACM) will be carried out by Seitz Bros. and will be as per EPA Protocol. The highest level of Quality Control will be maintained at all times to ensure the well being and safety of surveyors and occupants of the building at all stages of the survey.
Asbestos Air Monitoring & Testing
Our scope of work for Asbestos Safety Control and Air Monitoring Services during an Asbestos Abatement Project shall include, at a minimum, the following:
Seitz Bros. inspectors will ensure standard operating procedures, engineering control systems, respiratory protection, decontamination procedures, packaging and disposal of asbestos waste and any other aspects of the project that may affect the health and safety of the building occupants and the environment.
Collect Baseline Samples prior to initiation of each work activity or abatement area.
Collect Project Samples during abatement to yield a minimum of eight hours of sampling time inside each work area and outside the work area (in occupied buildings).
If at any time during the course of the work, airborne asbestos concentrations exceed either the background concentrations or 0.01f/cc outside the work area, the Seitz Bros. will halt abatement activities and take corrective measures to reduce airborne concentrations (misting the air, wet wiping, HEPA vacuuming, etc.). Work may not commence until the source of the contamination has been identified and additional air samples have been collected and analyzed indicating acceptable levels.
After a thorough and final cleaning of the work area, we will do a Final Visual Inspection. If the work area is visually clean, Seitz Bros. will perform Final Air Clearance Testing. An Asbestos Certification of Visual Inspection for each work area will then be completed.
Daily project activity logs, sample location maps, and sample collection data will be maintained for the duration of the project. All project documentation and final report shall be provided at project completion.
Asbestos Bulk Sampling
Our personnel are trained and licensed to meet all applicable Federal, State and Local Regulations on proper bulk sampling procedures to ensure minimization of fiber contamination; proper sample identification and the appropriate chain-of-custody to ensure accountability and maintaining sample standards and accuracies. All Bulk Samples will be analyzed by an Accredited and Licensed Laboratory using Polarized Light Microscopy or Transmission Electron Microscopy with Sampling and Testing Methodology conforming to Regulatory Standards as outlined by the appropriate Regulatory Agencies at the Federal, State and Local Level.
